About NearHome Report
NearHome Report is a free, plain-English report card of what's physically near a home: toxic-release facilities, Superfund sites, facilities with environmental violations, and flood, wildfire and earthquake hazards. It uses only official government records.
What we believe
- Official facts, not predictions. We don't build our own risk models. Each grade comes from a named government dataset, and each section links to its source and gives its date.
- Pollution first. What's near a home is often the hardest thing to find out, so it leads the report.
- Fair. Grades never use demographic data. Neighborhood context such as median rent is shown as plain facts and never graded.
- Correctable. Records can be wrong. Report an error and we'll check it against the official source.

We're starting with California. The data is rebuilt regularly from each agency's latest release; see the data vintages.
